Day #2

I'm happy to be alive today because of my family.

Every now and then I have to remind myself that I'm incredibly lucky. I don't mean the kind of luck where you magically find money in the street (although I do find an awful lot of pens on the street), or even the sort of luck where you win every competition you ever enter.
I'm lucky because of my family. I know that no matter what I choose to do, they'll support me and accept me (even if they might not be happy about what I do). The longer I live, the more I realise how rare this is, and how little I think I show my appreciation. The fact that I can take it for granted that my family will support me in anything shows just how lucky I am. So many people I know have been made incredibly unhappy because they don't have this thing that I couldn't even conceive living without.

So, even if we occasionally drive each other completely and utterly insane, and I'm sure there are things that we would all like to change about each other, I'm glad that I was born into this family.
