I'm happy to be alive today because I am alive.
I mean, when you look at all of the things that could have happened to me in the 21 years (and a couple of weeks) of my life so far, I think it's a pretty nifty thing that I'm still around.
Although some might disagree and prefer the contrary. But generally, the people who tell you to your face that they'd rather you were dead are best avoided.
Anyway, since this is the first post, an explanation is probably due, so:
This blog has been bouncing around in my head for a while now, and it basically stemmed from one thought, which was: 'I want to be happy more.'
And given my previous experience with changing my own mood with sheer stubbornness and numerous distractions, it occurred to me that this was something that I could change myself. Hence, this project - the aim of which is to remind myself (and, if I'm lucky and say the right thing on the right day, someone else as well) that there is a reason to be happy every single day.
I hope to be posting once a day from here on in (although given my odd sleeping schedule, not necessarily every 24 hours), and generally in the format of 'I'm happy to be alive today because...' and then a short explanation if I feel it's needed.
If anyone else is reading this, I hope you have a great day. I'll do my best if you will.
